In 1984 Dennis and Cheryl received the outstanding Young Dairy Family Award for Allamakee Co. In 1985 he received the National Contest Young Jersey Dairyman Award. In 1992 the family received the Winneshiek Co. Distinguished Family Dairy Award. In 1989 Dennis received the Winneshiek Co. Outstanding Young Farmer Award from the Jaycees.

Gary Alan Cline was born at Decorah, IA to Robert and Vernetta (Bolson) Cline. He was baptized 7 Dec 1958 at the Luther College C. K. Preus Gymnasium by Pastor I. M. Gjellstad. His sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cline, Henrietta Stockman and Duane Ruffridge. Gary was confirmed at Decorah Lutheran 20 Oct 1974 by Pastor Alden Hovda.
Gary attended the Decorah schools and graduated from Decorah High School in 1977. He was active in wrestling and FF.A. (Future Farmers of America). He was a member of the Riverside Beavers 4-H Club and exhibited cattle at the county fair. He is interested in horses and has a small dairy herd on his parents’ farm on Clay Hill. He does custom milking for area farmers.
Gary was married to Mary Jo Massman 7 Feb 1981 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah by Pastors Edward Lechtenberg and Alden Hovda. Mary was born at Decorah to Francis and Joanne Massman of rural Decorah. She was baptized 7 Feb 1960 with Mrs. Paul Hackman and Albin Massman as sponsors. Mary attended Decorah schools and graduated from Decorah High School in 1978. She participated in tennis and O.E. (Office Education). As part of her training in O.E. she worked for Dr. Kniegge (chiropractor) and in the law office of Atty. Isadore Meyer. She worked 7 years in the office of Holland Bros. Construction, a few months at Anderson, Putnam and Vander Maaten Law Firm, 2-3 years at F.H.A., 2 years again at Holland Bros, and about 6 months at Aase Haugen Retirement Home as nurses aid. On 12 May 1995 she received her degree in nursing from Northeast Iowa Community College at Calmar, IA. She is now employed by the Howard Co. Hospital in Cresco and the Winneshiek Co. Memorial Hospital in Decorah.
Gary and Mary have 3 children, all born in Decorah and all baptized at Decorah Lutheran by Pastor Alden Hovda. Valerie Lynn was born . She was baptized 6 Sep 1981. Her sponsors were Mark and Dianne Cline and Stan and Cheryl Von Ruden. Valerie plays violin in the school orchestra. Stephanie Beth was born 18 Sep 1982. She was baptized 28 Nov 1982. Her sponsors were Dennis and Cheryl Cline and Darrell and Kris Massman. Stephanie sings in the school choir. Adam Brent was born 29 Jan 1984. He was baptized 18 Mar 1984. His sponsors were Julie Cline and Thomas and Ruth Massman. All three children attend Decorah schools, belong to the Madison 4-H Club and show cattle at the Winneshiek Co. Fair. Mark Wayne Cline was born at Decorah, IA to Robert and Vernetta (Bolson) Cline. He was baptized at Decorah Lutheran 28 Mar 1954 by Pastor M. A. Egge. His sponsors were his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. L. C. Bolson and Mr. & Mrs. Harry Cline, Sr. Mark was confirmed 27 Sep 1970 by Pastor Alden Hovda. He started school at Clay Hill and then attended Decorah schools, graduating from Decorah High School in 1973. He was active in wrestling, F.F.A. (Future Farmers of America), and fire squad. He was a member of the Riverside Beavers 4-H Club and showed cattle at the county fair. After high school Mark worked with his father on the farm. He also worked for his grandfather, L. C. Bolson, on his farm and at his feed plant. He trucked Bolson Livestock feeds to dealers, worked at Bolson’s Lansing Feed Service and then spent about 1 1/2 years at Ronningen Motors in Decorah. For the past 17 years he has been driving a ready-mix truck for Carlson Materials of Decorah.
Mark was married 17 Jun 1978 to Dianne Lynne Sivesind by Pastor Alden Hovda at Decorah Lutheran Church. Dianne was born at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA to Gordon and Donna Sivesind. She was baptized at St. Johns Lutheran in Waukon. Her sponsors were Duane and Verna Harms. Dianne was confirmed at Canoe Ridge Lutheran in 1974
